Fun & Funky: Urbano Pizza Co. (124 St)
An Edmonton Pizza Place with a growing following, Urbano Pizza Co. is located on trendy 124 St. and boasts a fun & funky interior as well as a small patio for enjoying those smoky Edmonton Summer nights.
Urbano is another great born-in-Edmonton Pizza Joint (it's easy to see why we were voted one of the top pizza cities in the world!) started by the owners of both the SABOR and Bodega Tapas restaurants here in YEG.
It's a very clean & stylish interior with cool murals and of course those colourful little pizza ovens! Yes, Urbano quick-cooks your pizza in just 120 seconds (!) using super hot hearth-style pizza ovens that look like they belong in a cartoon... fun, funky & functional!
There are some set pizzas you can choose from, or you can create your own pizza de resistance from the the many available topping selections on hand.
We ordered up one of the set pizzas called The Italian Stallion, grabbed a couple of cold beverages from a healthy selection, and made our way outside to enjoy the Summer sunshine.

The Place: 4 - Pretty good, i like the big pizza on the wall.
The Crust: 3 - Thin but chewy... it was yummy!
The Sauce: 4 - Finally had enough sauce, and dee-licious!
The Cheese: 3.5 - The cheese was kinda small, but yummy with the arugula.
The Toppings: 4 - The sausage was a little bit spicy, but was really yyyummy! I found out I like Arugula!
PizzaMonsters Verdict: 4 The pizza was really good and I want to go back and have it again soon!

The Place: 4 - Fun & Funky! A hip location, a small patio, and super friendly staff.
The Crust: 4 - Thin. Crispy. Soft. Chewy, Delicious. All of the right adjectives apply. Very enjoyable!
The Sauce: 3 - Better than most, not quite top notch. Fresh, tomato-y, but lacking something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
The Cheese: 3.5 - The Caciocavallo was chewy and tasty. A little more would take this right where it needs to be.
The Toppings: 4 - Lots of Capicolla, Italian Sausage, & Mortadella make this a true Italian Stallion! The Arugula and Balsamic Glaze really complete the flavours.
PizzaMonsters Verdict: 4 I dug Urbano. One of those places with a good vibe... and thankfully, also good pizza and a nice selection of bevvies! I'd go back for sure. It might be time to revisit a couple of favourites from the past such as Tony's and Ragazzi to get a fresh outlook and compare...
